All good and I can’t find much to disagree with. However, the conversation I have with left leaning friends is all about the ‘leash’ (as you put it) that the EU applies to constrain the worst excesses of an ‘unleashed’ Tory party. If there was Brexit, then the Tories would have free reign for another 4 years to undertake the privatisation of everything, remove any remaining employee safeguards, remove environmental ‘red tape’, remove ‘human rights’ legislation and finish off the welfare system. You seem to accept this may well happen but that it’s just ‘democracy in action’. I think this is the crux for many on the left and so next time could you give us your take on this in more detail please?
